What to Expect at Your Initial Dental Appointment
Our office practices comprehensive dentistry. Your first appointment will include restorative charting, periodontal evaluation, gingival screening, and an oral cancer exam that will be performed by the dentist. A routine cleaning will be performed at this appointment if your periodontal status is relatively healthy. If unhealthy, a treatment plan will be discussed to improve your gingival and periodontal condition.
We strongly recommend that you contact your previous dentist, even if it has been several years, and have your dental records and X-rays forwarded to our office. Otherwise, we will take a full mouth series of X-rays which we will evaluate for cavities, periodontal bone levels and general bony pathology.
You can expect this appointment to last approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. Due to the length of this appointment, it is not recommended that children accompany you. If you are unable to come in 10 minutes early for your appointment, you can print the necessary forms from this website and complete them in advance.
